Control
a)
Select materials that are close together in the
galvanic series.
b)
Electrically isolate the two metals from each
other by installing insulating flanges or unions.
c)
Maintain a large surface area of the anodic metal
compared with the surface area of the cathodic metal.
d)
Paint the metals to reduce the surface areas
exposed. It is preferable to paint the cathode to maintain a
large surface area of the anode metal.
