Clamps are also used for connection of anode wires to the structure; or,
more commonly, for splicing. To insure good electrical connection, the clamps and
wires must be clean and the clamps must be properly tightened. Clamped connections
should be insulated when exposed to soil or water in order to prevent loss of good
electrical contact.

Galvanic Test Stations. Test stations are included in galvanic anode
cathodic protection systems on buried structures to facilitate inspection of the system.
The test stations may be located above the surface in connection boxes or in
subsurface test stations mounted flush on grade. Typical test stations are shown in
Figures 21 and 22.
