should be purchased as collateral equipment and stored in repair
lockers for use by the trainees. As an exception to collateral
equipment requirements, portable CO2 extinguishers should be
provided with the training facility for the electrical room and
instructor's station.

The 19F5, 19F5A, 21C12, and 21C12A trainers should
use a low pressure refrigerated, CO2 bulk storage tank system.
For other trainers, consideration should be given to using
either a low pressure refrigerated, CO2 bulk storage tank system
extinguishers.

diameter and weigh 72 kg when full. Cylinders contain CO2 gas at
5857 kPa at 21.1 degrees C. The recharging station should
consist of the following collateral equipment: tilt racks, a
scale, 220 V, single-phase motor and pump, fill hose, and
valves. For details, refer to Appendix A, Figure A-11. The 23
kg cylinders should be stored in a bulk storage area located
near the recharging area. The bulk storage area should be
suitable for storing 1 month's supply of cylinders plus 2 weeks
of empty cylinders. Sufficient access should be provided in the
bulk storage area for moving the cylinders.
